In Their Debut Performance

May 2, 2008 - 6:00 p.m.

Rush County Fairgrounds - LaCrosse, Kansas

Rush County Sheriff Ward Corsair and LaCrosse Chief of Police Leroy Penka have teamed up to provide an evening of down-home entertainment. Their mission? To give back to their community and to thank the barbed wire collectors for their many years of supporting Rush County. They specialize in cowboy and folk music. Corsair and Penka will be joined by Kurt Corsair and Tom Knowlton from the “Bow & Arrow Ranch” in Walsenburg, Colorado.

Chief Penka and Sheriff Corsair have performed in the past for church and family events. Kurt Corsair, brother to Sheriff Corsair, and Tom Knowlton are both well-known in the Walsenburg area. All of the entertainers are donating their time and talents to “ the citizens of Rush County and the barbed wire collectors”.

The performance will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the stage at the Rush County Fairgrounds.

A benefit barbecue will begin serving at 6:00 p.m. sponsored by LaCrosse Food Pride. A free will donation will be taken with proceeds to benefit the Kansas Barbed Wire Museum in their mission to educate the public about the significant role that barbed wire played in the settlement of Kansas and the West.
